After three days of competition, Southern Cross University (SCU) dominated the 2024 Nationals Surfing championships, winning the Teams Challenge, the Overall Women’s title, and being crowned the Overall Champions. The University of Technology Sydney also had everyone’s attention, taking home the men\u2019s title. This marks SCU’s impressive 10th overall championship win.<\/p>\n

The championships, held on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, attracted over 90 student-athletes from across Australia. Proudly supported by event partners, Sunshine Coast Council and Surfing Queensland, the event showcased the best of university surfing talent in the country.<\/p>\n

UniSport Australia General Manager \u2013 National Sport Program, Christine Voge, was pleased to see students travel across the country to compete at the glorious Alexandra Headland Beach on the Sunshine Coast.<\/p>\n

\u201cLovely Sunshine Coast weather, great surf conditions and high spirits from all competitors was a true highlight of this year’s event. Congratulations to SCU for their 2024 Surfing championship title and all the winners and competitors across the 3 days of competition. It was very encouraging to see the event grow to over 90 student athletes and big thank you to Surfing Queensland for their on the ground deliver of this year’s event again and ongoing partnership with UniSport Australia.\u201d said Voge.<\/p>\n

The event also celebrated individual accomplishments. Unisport would like to acknowledge the student-athletes who excelled in their respective categories. Congratulations to the following champions:<\/p>\n
