UniSport’s international student sport festivals provide free opportunities for international students studying at Australian universities to connect, compete and celebrate their diverse backgrounds through sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural event was delivered in Melbourne in 2024. This year, planning is underway to deliver events in WA, Victoria, NSW and Queensland, offering opportunities for international students to play a range of sports, including 3×3 basketball, badminton, table tennis, cricket, football (soccer), volleyball and pickleball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Past events have provided fantastic opportunities for international students to meet many other students, including from their home country and from their university, helping build connection and provide a greater sense of belonging in a new environment. This demonstrates the role sport can play in improving overall health and wellbeing of international students, therefore building greater relevance of sport within universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant funding received from the Australian Government managed by the Australian Sports Commission will help make the 2026 events possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
