Congratulations to all competitors, and especially to Bond University for their remarkable performance across both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s competitions.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-we493408\">Women&#8217;s Competition: Bond on Top<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-6sfs4410\">Bond\u2019s women were exceptional, collecting 347 points to finish well ahead of the University of Queensland (231.5) and University of Technology Sydney (112). Macquarie University made a strong showing to place 7th overall, boosted by standout individual efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Top 5: Men\u2019s Point Score<\/th><th><\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Bond University<\/td><td>320<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>The University of Queensland<\/td><td>278.5<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>University of Technology Sydney <\/td><td>181<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>The University of Sydney<\/td><td>153.5<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Queensland University of Technology<\/td><td>145<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-3u4tp438\">&#8220;We\u2019re incredibly proud of our swimmers for their outstanding performances once again at Nationals\u201d said Director of Swimming Kyle Samuelson, \u201cto come away with wins in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s competitions, is a testament to their commitment, talent and team culture. Every swimmer played a part in making this our fourth consecutive Nationals win, and we couldn\u2019t be prouder.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-35ht3442\">Paralympic Stars and Record-Breaking Performances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-xxic8448\">The championships saw 13 records broken, many by elite para-athletes who brought international experience and class to the event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Isabella Vincent (The University of Queensland) broke records in the S6 200m Freestyle (4:11.58), SB6 100m Breaststroke (2:47.97), and S6 100m Backstroke (2:05.91).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jenna Jones (University of the Sunshine Coast) was in record-breaking form across four events including SB12 100m Breaststroke (1:24.76)&nbsp;and S12 100m Backstroke (1:17.39).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nicholas Layton (Monash University) starred in the S15 category, setting new benchmarks in the 100m Butterfly (57.34), 50m Freestyle (24.15), and 100m Freestyle (53.97).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rachael Watson (The University of Queensland) delivered a record time of 1:33.48 in the S3 100m Freestyle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mia O\u2019Leary (Bond University) broke the open record in the 50m Breaststroke with a 31.38 swim.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-e1gsy11036\">Three of the athletes breaking records; Olivia Wunsch (Macquarie University), fresh from winning gold in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay at the Paris Olympics, claimed gold in both the 50m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly, adding star power and inspiration for all student-athletes in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-b66u4496\">Multisport Performers Shine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"viewer-wnecc498\">One of the most impressive dual-sport performances came from Anneke Van Zoggel (University of Technology Sydney), who competed at Nationals Triathlon in the women\u2019s sprint distance triathlon last month and returned to the water for swimming.
